Catalan cuisine combines tradition and innovation, the sea and the mountains, and quality local produce with creativity and originality. Catalunya is a very well prepared destination for hiking and cycling tourism. And also for skiing at the 10 downhill ski resorts and 6 ones for Nordic skiing or adventure sports.
Catalunya offers specialized destinations to practice sports tourism, with first class facilities that meet the requirements of more than 300 sports disciplines. Every year, more than 40 international competitions are held in Catalunya. In addition, Catalunya has other important institutions such as Barcelona football club and the Circuit de Catalunya (race track), which help project the international image of Catalan sport.
